I don't have a favorite Xiu Xiu album. When it comes to this band, I tend to love some songs, and hate some. Well, this album is the best one the band has made, at least for me. It's perfectly fine to mope around sometimes, fellas.

I got hold of this copy when I found out that Owen Pallett, a.k.a. Final Fantasy was a former member of the band. Sadly, no vocals for Owen here. It appears that he left Picastro before this album was released, but he contributed some lovely yet haunting organ, violin and piano to various tracks in this somber affair. If you ever need to brood, this is the perfect album.

Also, watch out for guest appearance of Xiu Xiu's Jamie Stewart in one of the tracks here!
